Exploring Progressive Revelation in the Baha'i Faith

In the Baha'i Faith, when we talk about the end of the world, we're not talking about the planet blowing up. Instead, it means the end of one era (dispensation) and the start of a new one, guided by divine teachings.

Abdul Baha, explains that the return of Christ doesn't mean He physically comes back, but rather the arrival of someone who follows Him, bringing God's kingdom and power.

Shoghi Effendi, the spiritual son of Abdul Baha and the First Guardian of the Baha'i Faith, tells us that the Baha'i era will last for at least one thousand years. This era is just the beginning of a series of divine revelations that will continue for thousands of centuries, all inspired by Baha'u'llah, the founder of the Baha'i Faith.

The Guardian of the Faith, according to the Baha'i teachings, has the authority to protect the Baha'i community. And he is the only one who can remove corrupt members by declaring them as ‘Covenant Breakers’ if needed.

The Sans Guardian group claim that the Guardianship has ended, but this goes way against what Abdul Baha laid out in his Will and Testament. According to him, the Guardian is a crucial part of the Baha'i Faith, ensuring that divine guidance continues. Without Guardianship the world order of Baha’u’llah would be mutilated.

To understand all this, it's important for individuals to look into the teachings themselves and not just rely on what others say. By studying the writings of Baha'u'llah, Abdul Baha, and Shoghi Effendi which were published before 1960, people can come to their own conclusions about the importance of the Guardianship and the ongoing guidance of the Baha'i Faith.

In short, the Baha'i Faith teaches that divine guidance evolves over time to meet the changing needs of humanity. Believers can find direction and purpose in today's world by following the teachings of Baha'u'llah and respecting the Covenant established by him and Abdul Baha through the continuation of Guardianship, one after the other, until the coming of the next Manifestation. The current living Guardian of the Baha'i Faith is Nosrat'u'llah Bahremand.
