The Baha'i Scriptures

The Baha’i Faith is a relatively young religion that emerged in Persia, now known as Iran. The founder of the religion was Bahá'u'lláh whose teachings are recorded in numerous scriptures, which are considered by us i.e. Orthodox Baha’is to be divine revelations.

The Baha’i scriptures are vast and cover a wide range of topics. They include books, letters, and prayers, many of which were written by Bahá'u'lláh himself, as well as his son and successor, `Abdu'l-Bahá, and other followers of the faith. Some of the most important Baha’i scriptures include the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, the Kitáb-i-Íqán, and the Hidden Words.

The Kitáb-i-Aqdas is considered the most holy scripture of the Baha’i Faith. It was written by Bahá'u'lláh in the 1870s and contains laws and ordinances that Baha’is are expected to follow. These include rules on prayer, fasting, marriage, and the treatment of the poor and the sick. The Kitáb-i-Aqdas also contains prophecies about the future of humanity and the role that the Baha’i Faith will play in bringing about a more just and peaceful world.

The Kitáb-i-Íqán, which means "Book of Certitude," was written by Bahá'u'lláh in the mid-1800s.

The Hidden Words is a collection of short aphorisms and mystical sayings that were written by Bahá'u'lláh in the late 19th century.

In addition to these works, there are numerous other Baha’i scriptures that cover a wide range of topics. Many of these texts have been translated into multiple languages and are widely read by Baha’is around the world.

Word of Caution:

After the passing away of the first Guardian Shoghi Effendi, there was a carefully orchestrated split in which the Persian hands of cause and the widow of The Guardian said that the idea of guardianship has changed to "Badah" (change in the plan of God).

They disregarded Abdul Baha's Will and Testament as well as Shoghi Effendi's affirmations that the upcoming Guardians will lead the Baha'i Faith until the arrival of the next Manifestation.

They established a new 9-member body and gave it the name Universal House of Justice. The organisation known as the Universal House of Justice is merely a pseudonym since it was not established in accordance with Abdul Baha's Will and Testament and does not have a living Guardian as its head.

After formation of UHJ, there were a lot of editing done in the Baha’i Scriptures and hence the The Second Guardian of the Baha’i Faith (Charles Mason Remey) advised that one should read the writings of Baha’u’llah, Abdul Baha and Shoghi Effendi which are published before 1960 as those are the only writings which are pure and unadulterated:

“The Baha’i Writings of Baha'u'llah, Abdu’l-Baha, and Shoghi Effendi, First Guardian of the Baha’i Faith, that were published before the date 1960 A.D. by the Baha’i Publishing Trust, Wilmette, Illinois, U.S.A. are recommended for study by the Second Guardian, as these works contain the pure, unadulterated Baha’i Teachings. He warns all people against publications that are now being put forth by this Baha’i Trust (Wilmette, Illinois), because since April I960, the people now in control of this Trust have repudiated their Faith of the original Canons of the Baha’i Faith.”

To conclude, every sensible individual will understand that the current UHJ is fraudulent after reading the literature written before 1960 and studying Abdul Baha's W&T.
