Lineage of Guardianship
Shoghi Effendi was not an immediate descendent of Abdul Baha. He was the child of Abdul Baha's daughter Ziyá'iyyih Khánum.
In the W&T, Master has clearly mentioned that the first
male descendent of Shoghi Effendi will be the next Guardian. However, if for
any reason the first male descendant is not capable of handling the
responsibility of Guardianship, it will be the next son. If not that then
Shoghi Effendi in his own lifetime will need to appoint a Guardian.
It is nowhere stated that there must be a Will appointing
the next Guardian…
Also, it is not possible that Shoghi Effendi will disobey
the Master and die without appointing the next Guardian.
Shoghi Effendi did not have any children, thus he established the International Baha'i Council—UHJ in its infancy—during his lifetime and appointed Charles Mason Remey as its president (head).
It should be noted that only the Guardian is permitted to
serve as the IBC's president. This serves as the first evidence that Mason
Remey was chosen to serve as the second Guardian.
It is also important to remember that, in accordance with the
W&T of Master, the UHJ must be looked after and guided by a Living
Guardian, who serves as the UHJ's head. In other words, UHJ requires the
Guardian as its Head in order to operate.
Another indication that Mason Remey is the Second Guardian
is the fact that Master used to refer to Remey as his son in his letters (i.e.
spiritual one). Mason Remey, like Shoghi Effendi, was Master's spiritual son
rather than his biological son, making him qualified to serve as the second
Guardian.
There are a tonne more indications indicating Mason Remey
was the second Guardian of the Baha'i Faith, but for the purpose of
conciseness, I'll let the readers do their own research.
